Writing 220

This portfolio was created for a course called Writing 220. In this class we were first instructed to search through some of our old pieces of work and submit three as potential proposals. Then, we chose one of these three pieces and repurposed it by creating a whole new piece of writing that was sparked by our prior work. In my case, I chose a letter I had written to my ex boyfriend. To repurpose this I then created a Do's and Don'ts list of a letter to your Ex. It had a completely new tone and central theme but was sparked by the original letter I had once written to my own ex-boyfriend.

The next step of this course was to remediate this same piece. In this case, remediating something involves turning our prior work into a completely new form. This was no longer going to be a do's and don'ts list. For my remediation I decided to create a twitter page that is quite satirical and light hearted as it tends to poke fun at the "bad boy-friend" or "horrible ex." This allowed me to let my voice shine through as I display my sense of humor and unfiltered self. It was so much fun to create!

Overall, this class has been a phenomenal experience. I have learned so much about myself as a writer and I have allowed myself to explore new means of creativity. I cannot wait to see what the Capstone course will entail.
